Born and raised here in San Diego, Ian brings a deep connection to our local music community and a passion for nurturing talent in students of all ages and experience levels.

Ian’s musical voice was shaped through extensive study with local guitar legend Fred Benedetti, a formative experience that honed his approach to the classical guitar. His dedication to his craft is further evidenced by his participation in master classes with many of the world’s leading classical guitarists, including Ángel Romero, Johannes Möller, Thomas Viloteau, and Paul Galbraith. This rich educational background allows him to provide world-class instruction right here in Sorrento Valley.

As an active performer and recording artist, Ian brings professional experience directly to the classroom. Since 2022, he has been a featured soloist with the San Diego-based Cabrillo Chamber Orchestra. In 2019, he released his first solo album, From Within, a deeply personal work. Additionally, Ian is an accomplished composer; his original compositions are known for being highly melodic and rich in texture, contributing meaningfully to the contemporary classical guitar repertoire.
