Private Violin Lessons — What We Cover
Every student gets a fully personalized lesson plan. No cookie-cutter approach — we adjust pace, repertoire, and technique goals to the individual.
Bow Technique
Correct bow hold, straight bow path, and tone production from the very first lesson. Bad habits are harder to fix later.
Intonation & Ear Training
The violin has no frets. We train the ear alongside the fingers so students play in tune from the start.
Repertoire & Performance
Students always work toward a performance goal — recital, competition, or simply playing a piece they love all the way through.
Right Violin Size
Children need fractional instruments — 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, or 3/4. We advise on sizing and reliable rental sources at your trial lesson.
What to Expect — First 12 Weeks
Weeks 1–4
Standing posture, bow hold, open string exercises. First simple song with the bow on one string.
Weeks 5–8
Left hand fingers introduced. Simple melodies, basic note reading, and intonation exercises.
Weeks 9–12
One complete performance-ready piece. D major scale. Ready for first recital preparation.
Goal: one confident piece + correct bow and posture habits by Week 12.
Violin Lessons for Every Age
Young Children (Ages 4–6)
Short playful lessons focused on posture and bow hold. We use songs and games to build ear, coordination, and love of music before adding complexity.
Kids & Teens (Ages 6–17)
Structured classical curriculum with clear progression. Technique, sight-reading, music theory, and regular recital performance each season.
Adults (All Levels)
Complete beginners and returning players both welcome. Flexible scheduling, patient pacing, and repertoire you actually want to play.
