Joyce earned a B.A. in Flute Performance from Towson University (MD) and pursued graduate studies in Musicology at the Peabody Conservatory (Johns Hopkins University). She founded the Carmel Valley–based Hayutin Music Studio (2007–2020) and co-founded San Diego Coastal Flutes, which hosted Sir James Galway at SDSU. As a long-time Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Certified Specialist, her students consistently achieved excellent marks in flute, piano, and theory—one student performed at Carnegie Hall in 2021. She prepares students for RCM, ABRSM, and MTAC Certificate of Merit.
